Pic 6. River Kin.jpg

River Kin

River Kin explores the Taff as a place of shelter, movement and belonging - a home to the birds and wildlife that inhabit its banks.

Repurposed linen and cotton form the foundation of the piece, screen printed and digitally stitched with abstract shapes that come together to create an almost tribal rhythm.

The repeated marks and forms suggest patterns found in nature and the interconnectedness of life along the river - a visual language for the sense of belonging felt by the birds that make the Taff their home.

Made from reclaimed textiles, the piece brings together print, stitch and repetition to create an abstract celebration of the Taff and its inhabitants.
