Through the Trees

Through the Trees captures the elusive beauty of the Jay bird - those brief moments when a flash of blue catches the eye between leaves and branches before disappearing again.

Repurposed linen and cotton have been patchworked into vertical strips, creating a rhythm of colour and movement against a quiet, neutral linen background. The shifting blues and subtle tones reflect the distinctive colours of the jay's wings, suggesting rather than depicting the bird itself.

Hand stitched and made entirely from reclaimed textiles, the piece is an abstract interpretation of those fleeting encounters with birds along the Taff Trail, glimpsed for a moment, then lost amongst the trees.
